Camp Chawanakee 2021 Update

Dear Camp Chawanakee Leaders,                                                                      January 29, 2021

We are sending you this letter to let you know that we intend to operate Summer Camp at Camp Chawanakee in 2021.  We are excited and planning has begun.

As always, our primary concern is for the health and safety of all who attend Summer Camp.  We will only conduct Summer Camp if it is safe and practical. We are consulting with the Fresno County Department of Health.  As public health guidelines evolve in the spring and summer of 2021, we will, if necessary, adjust programs and procedures.  We will keep you posted regarding changes. Until then if you have any questions please refer to the 2021 Camp Leader’s Guide, which is on our website.

Sign-ups for 2021 are doing quite well.  Other councils who lost the use of their camps due to fires are signing up for our Summer Camp.  Fees for 2021 are due as follows: By January 15, a payment of $125 per person (both youth and adults). By March 15, the second payment of $100 (both youth and adults).  We cannot guarantee a reservation if fees are not paid in full and on time.  Our refund policy for 2021 will be the same as 2020.  If Summer Camp is canceled by the Sequoia Council for any reason including Covid-19 related issues, all fees will be refunded. There will be no refunds for any other reason.

Please feel free to submit questions to campdirector@seqbsa.organd we will try to answer your questions promptly.

We thank you for your understanding during these challenging times and look forward to a fun-filled Summer at Camp Chawanakee.

Sincerely,

Your Camp Chawanakee Management Team
