Prepared for Life
The Friends of Scouting campaign is Sequoia Council’s annual fundraising effort. It provides the financial support needed to deliver quality Scouting programs to youth throughout Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties.
Each year, parents, volunteers, alumni, and community supporters contribute to ensure that local youth have access to leadership development, character-building experiences, outdoor adventures, and life-changing opportunities.
Program fees cover only a portion of the true cost of Scouting. Donations to Friends of Scouting help fund volunteer training, program materials, camp improvements, scholarships for families in need, and the continued operation of Camp Chawanakee at Shaver Lake.
Why Support Scouting?
Scouting helps young people develop:
- Leadership skills
- Character and integrity
- Confidence and self-reliance
- A commitment to service
- Respect for others and the outdoors
Through hands-on experiences and outdoor adventures, Scouts learn how to make ethical decisions, work as a team, and overcome challenges.
Your Gift Makes a Local Impact
Every gift stays local and directly supports youth in the Sequoia Council. Your contribution helps ensure that every child, regardless of financial circumstances, has the opportunity to benefit from Scouting.
Invest in the Future
The years when young people are developing their values and identity are critical. Scouting provides a proven program that prepares them for life.
