KlondikeKlondike Derby

It is time to start planning for the 2010 Klondike Derby to be held on February 19 – 21, 2010, at Camp Chawanakee in Shaver Lake California. This is the 21st consecutive year that the Sequoia Council has put on this great event. Troops and Crews from around California are invited to participate in this winter adventure. Camp Chawanakee will be transformed into the Alaskan Yukon where scouts will be traversing the frontier, going from town to town testing their scout skills, competing for gold, and demonstrating the Patrol Method. Family CampFamily Camp

Family Camp is the premier location for scouting and non scouting families to have a fun and relaxing vacation.Why should just the scouts get away for the week? Running the same time at Camp Chawanakee Family Camp gives parents and siblings an opportunity to spend a few days to a week in the Sierra Mountains. Seperate from Camp Chawanakee is a preistine campground that allows total camping freedom to relax and explore the natures wonder.

Now's your chance, for two weekends at the end of summer we open up Camp Chawanakee and all many of it's program areas for the whole family to enjoy. Participate in any of the multitude of activites that we offer or just come up and relax in the beautiful Sierra Mountains. The choice is all yours. NYLTNational Youth Leadership Training

NYLT is an exciting, action-packed six-day leadership training for Boy Scouts. The NYLT course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE what he must KNOW and what he must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.

Wood Badge is a leadership course that completes Scouting’s Basic Leadership Training program for all levels of Scouting leaders: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturing.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?

Wood Badge for the 21st Century is for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout and Venturing leaders as well as District and Council Scouting leaders. The course content and leadership principles introduced apply to Scouters in all leadership positions. These skills provide a common leadership foundation that is beneficial for all program areas.
